KEYENCE's digital microscope achieves a depth of field at least 20 times greater than that of optical microscopes-so it provides a perfect representation of even large projections and depressions that are difficult to bring into focus with optical microscopes. Adjusting the focus is quick and easy. Only a limited part of the target can be brought into focus, while the rest remains out of focus.
As a result, observation requires a great deal of time, and it is more likely that a minute flaw or foreign object on the target will be overlooked.

Advantages of the digital microscope

  Superior depth of field
  - Speedy: adjusting the focus is quick and easy.
- Accurate: the entire target image is clearly focused, providing exact observation data.

Excellent Optical Design

In addition to depth of field, lens performance is also defined by other factors such as resolution, brightness, observation distance and aberration. KEYENCE's digital microscope lens has been designed to offer an excellent balance of all of these:

Resolution
The high-resolution lens permits precision observation in great detail.
Brightness
A dark lens does not allow detailed observation.
Observation distance
Observation distance indicates the distance between the lens and a target. The greater this distance, the higher the flexibility in observation.
Aberration
Aberrations include color differences and image deformation.
The digital microscope combines several lenses to correct for such aberrations.
