Variable-Angle Observation System
When observing or inspecting an object, it is often necessary to view it from multiple angles in order to determine the quality of the part. Optical microscopes, particulary compound microscopes, have great difficulty in performing this type of inspection since they are primarily used for top-down observation. Users must utilize clay or some other fixture in order to manipulate the sample and place it in the required position or at the appropriate angle.
The free-angle stand of the VHX Digital Microscope dramatically simplifies this inspection process. Just place a sample on the stage and quickly view your target from any angle, without having to even touch the sample or prop it up with a fixture. With an arm that tilts up to 90 degrees and a stage that rotates 360 degrees, no defect will ever go unnoticed.
In addition, the arm of the stand can be motorized, allowing for electronic Z-axis control of the lens - see Motorized Lens Control for additional information.

Easy-to-Adjust
Easy focus adjustment, X-Y stage movement, rotation and oblique axis motion. A custom mechanism allows the target to stay centered in the field of view, even when the lens unit is inclined or rotated.
Vibration-Proof Rubber
Each Variable-angle Microscope Stand is equipped with four rubberized feet, which are designed to absorb low to high frequency vibrations. This allows observation with the digital microscope, even at high magnifications, without interference from environmental vibration.
Quick Setup Marks
The arm of the microscope stand is etched with lines that indicate the ideal setting position for each microscope zoom lens used with the digital microscope. Users can easily set the proper lens position in order to maximize the capabilities of the system.
Stability
The die-cast metal body of the microscope stand provides a highly-rigid structure to allow for more stable imaging. By optimally balancing the base and arm, the structure is able to withstand vibrations, even when using a heavier, high magnification microscope lens.
Objects that cannot fit onto the stage or that require a large working distance can still be imaged easily![]() |

LED Transmitted Illumination
LED transmitted illumination is standard with the XY motorized stage for the free-angle system. With light that produces consistent brightness, vivid observation is possible from low to high magnification. In addition to transmitted illumination, it is also possible to use the LED lighting in conjunction with vertical illumination from the lens. The light can be adjusted for each type of illumination, making it possible to perform observation with an optimum balance of light intensity.
