High performance graphic engine, including a 16-bit imaging system
Advanced high performance graphic engine allows you to obtain images in 16-bit gradation through the acquisition of RGB data from each pixel. When compared to conventional 8-bit data processing, infinitely more detailed profiles can be acquired and represented.

54 Million Pixel 3CCD Handheld Camera* [World's first] |
Despite its compact size, the camera includes an actuator to offer the pixel-shift method, achieving observation with super-high resolution of up to 54 million pixels. A flicker-free progressive scan method allows texture expression and color reproduction similar to observation with the naked eye.
* The 18 million pixels x 3CCD mode achieves both excellent color reproduction and super high resolution images.

Automatic Lens/Zoom Recognition Function DOUBLE'R |
By combining KEYENCE’s advanced sensor technology and accumulated microscopy/optical expertise, a brand new technology has been formed. Now it is possible for the VHX to not only recognize (in real time) which lens is mounted to the camera, but also the current magnification being viewed. Calibration is not required every time magnification is changed. In addition, the magnification setting, required for 3D observation, is also unnecessary. The usual mistakes that are made when selecting magnification will not occur, resulting in a much smoother, more accurate measurement process.
| Changing the magnification on your lens automatically changes the magnification setting on the digital microscope, thereby eliminating any possible chance of measurement errors. |

3D Profile Measurement |
Measuring Profiles Of A 3D Image
The VHX-600 creates a 3D image based on automatically captured images, and it calculates height profile data on the chosen cross-section. Height, width, and height difference data on the cross-section are plotted on a graph. Since the profile graph is related to the cursor position in the image display area, you can see the current measurement point easily.

Accurate D.F.D. method [New method] |
Quick 3D display
A new algorithm that obtains fine changes in texture in order to estimate height has been adopted. Building on our stereogram feature, whereby a 3D model can be constructed from a small number of images, the D.F.D. method facilitates the accurate 3D construction of finely detailed depth composition images, for accurate observation of the target object in three dimensions.
Clear 3-D observation with a large depth of field |
The VHX-600 provides a depth of field at least 20 times larger than optical microscopes. Thus, the VHX-600 can accurately observe a target (even with a large height difference) that could not be focused on with conventional microscopes. Furthermore, the number of steps required for observation including focus adjustment can be reduced considerably.
Observation at all angles |
You can freely observe a target with the lens unit held by hand or
mounted to the stand. You can capture any phenomenon exactly without
any oversights by changing the observation angle. Furthermore, the time
required for observation can be reduced considerably.
Real-time image improvement |
Through various digital processing functions, the VHX-600 can solve problems on displayed images caused by low contrast or darkness. With the KEYENCE-original graphic engine, the VHX-600 enables real-time observation while using the image improvement function, providing accurate observation without overlooking any phenomenon.
Recording observed images on the spot |
The VHX-600 incorporates a large-capacity (160 GB) HDD. Image files can be easily copied into your PC via LAN. Furthermore, the VHX-600 can be connected to various storage media. Saved images can be loaded instantaneously into your storage media. Since the VHX-600 can save moving images as well as still images, it can record a real change or minute motion of a target over time.
Real-time measurement |
Through simple mouse operations, the VHX-600 offers real-time measurement of the distance, radius, angle and area of a target on the monitor screen. Unlike systems that execute measurement after loading a still image into a PC, the VHX-600 can measure a target repeatedly while changing the visual field. This function is useful for measurement at various positions of a target.
Built-in Display |
The VHX-600 includes a UXGA (1600 x 1200 pixels) high-resolution 15-inch LCD monitor. This monitor displays the observed images as well as the measurement information. Displayed images can be quickly saved onto the integrated HDD or CD-R/RW drive.
